Aerielle's wireless audio dongles must be selling like hot cakes because their booth this year was easily 3 times the size. Oddly enough the only really had one new product on hand and it wasn't even a completely new product; it was actually an updated version of their i2i Wireless Dongle system. This iteration adds not only an improved battery life - up to 9 hours - but more than twice the range at 70 feet. It will hit retails shelves sometime in Q2 and while it will be released with a $120 MSRP, their rep assured us it will probably actually sell for about $100.

Gadgetell Review: i2i Stream - by Iyaz Akhtar, October 16, 2009

The devices do exactly what i2i says it does. Each device can serve as either the transmitter or receiver which is pretty handy. You can pair multiple receivers to one transmitter. You hook up one transmitter to the audio source and then plug in your headphones to the receiver. The i2i stream makes any pair of headphones wireless. The i2i guys don't skimp on what you get with the device with plenty in the package.

The devices charge over USB using mini USB cables. There are no annoying proprietary power supplies here. According to i2i, you can stream and charge at the same time. Audio quality was quite good and sounded as if you were listening via regular headphones connected to a device. The range of the Streams is around 30 feet and we had no problems pairing the devices or staying within that range. Multiple receivers can pair with one transmitter.

The i2i from Aerielle is a very nice little accessory for your iPod, iPhone or Mac. It's basically two small units: a sender and a receiver. Click on the button for each one until the unit lights up with the same color on both units, attach the player on one end and the speakers on the other, then you're in business. It plays wirelessly up to 30 feet, or about 10 meters. It seems like a really cool thing; you can connect pretty much any two devices and play music or other audio without wires.
